Insurance

Food for Thought Therapy is not currently accepting insurance. However, we will provide you with a superbill so you can file for reimbursement through your insurance company at the end of each month at no charge to you. It is the patients’ responsibility to file claims and follow up with your insurance carrier. Food for Thought Therapy does not guarantee any reimbursement.  Food for Thought Therapy is happy to provide you with evaluations, progress notes, and other paperwork that has been kept on file during your treatment.  If your insurance company needs Food for Thought Therapy to fill out any additional forms on your behalf, you will need to provide them to us and allow 72 hours for return. There is a $25 fee for each form.

Every insurance policy is written differently and it is important that you speak to your insurance regarding out-of-network health coverage, what is left on your deductible, what services are covered, and how to file a superbill prior to services.

We do accept HSA, FSA, and Step Up for Students (formerly Gardiner) Scholarships! Please ask for more information during your consultation.

Payment

We accept credit card payments and payment through Thrizer as an option for patients who choose to use it. Thrizer helps clients determine if they have out-of-network benefits available for use to support the cost of therapy sessions and submits claims to your insurance directly. Prior to working together, you will be invited to Thrizer where you can add your insurance information and payment method. Learn more about Thrizer here.

Did you know your insurance might help cover the cost of therapy, even if we aren’t in-network? Many families are surprised to learn they have out-of-network benefits, which means their insurance may reimburse a portion of each session.

With Thrizer, the process is simple – you don’t need to pay the full session fee up front. Instead, you’ll pay your copay through Thrizer, and Thrizer handles the rest. They’ll bill your insurance directly and wait for reimbursement.

To find out if you have out-of-network benefits, contact your insurance provider and ask about coverage for outpatient speech therapy with out-of-network providers. Once you know your benefits, you can add your insurance information to Thrizer.
