About Our Practice
At Food for Thought Therapy, we believe mealtimes should feel less stressful and more manageable—for both kids and their families.
Led by Kelly, a speech-language pathologist with more than 20 years of experience, our practice specializes in helping children and families navigate feeding challenges, including picky eating, food avoidance, and ARFID.
We take a compassionate, individualized approach to feeding therapy. Rather than focusing on simply getting a child to eat more foods, we look at the whole picture—understanding what may be contributing to feeding difficulties and giving families practical tools and support they can use beyond the therapy room.
Our goal is to help children build a more comfortable and positive relationship with food while helping parents feel confident and supported along the way.
You don't have to navigate feeding challenges alone. We're here to help.
Our services
Support for children and families navigating feeding challenges
At Food for Thought Therapy, we provide individualized support for children and families who are struggling with feeding, eating, and mealtimes. Our approach looks beyond the food on the plate to understand the factors that may be making eating difficult—and gives families practical, compassionate strategies to move forward.
Feeding Therapy
Feeding therapy can help children who experience challenges with eating, food variety, mealtimes, or their relationship with food.
We work with families experiencing concerns such as:
- Extremely selective or picky eating
- Limited food variety
- Food refusal or avoidance
- Anxiety or stress around food
- Difficulty trying new foods
- Mealtime struggles
- Sensory-related feeding challenges
- Difficulty with eating routines
Our goal isn't to force a child to eat. We work at the child's pace to build comfort, confidence, and positive experiences around food.
ARFID Support
Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) can make eating feel especially challenging for children and their families.
ARFID may involve a very limited range of accepted foods, strong avoidance of certain foods or textures, fear or anxiety surrounding eating, or a lack of interest in food.
Kelly provides individualized support for children experiencing ARFID and works closely with families to better understand their child's unique feeding challenges.
SPACE-ARFID
For families looking for more targeted support around ARFID, we offer individualized SPACE-ARFID sessions.
SPACE-ARFID is designed to help parents better understand and respond to their child's restrictive eating while creating a supportive environment that can encourage progress.
Sessions focus on practical strategies parents can implement at home—not just what happens during therapy.
Individualized Feeding Support
Every child is different, and there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to feeding.
Our sessions are tailored to your child's specific needs, strengths, challenges, and goals. We work collaboratively with parents so that strategies can extend beyond the therapy setting and into everyday family life.
Whether you're dealing with a newly emerging feeding concern or have been struggling with eating for years, we're here to help you find a path forward.
